Local couple builds on shared love of history

In summary Duke graduates Collin and Deanna Crossman add charm and comfort to the local hospitality scene.

Hospitality branding is industry-speak for “doing fun work for restaurants or hotels.” Strategic Insights has a long and decorated history working in hospitality, most notably with Raleigh-based Rocky Top Hospitality. Through a referral, we were introduced to Collin and Deanna Crossman of Rhea Hospitality.

After meeting at Duke, dating, and purchasing 18 historic homes in need of rehab, Collin and Deanna Crossman decided to get married and tackle even bigger projects. Through an extensive green renovation, they created the luxurious, 17-room King’s Daughters Inn across from Duke’s campus that became the first Rhea Hospitality property. The King’s Daughters Inn had gained so much momentum that the town of Cary, NC approached the couple to aid in developing its historic downtown area. The Crossmans broke ground for the 45-room boutique hotel The Mayton Inn in Cary, NC in 2016. The hotel features over 13,000 square feet of public space with a library, full bar, Verandah restaurant and Tonic Remedies spa, as well as event spaces including meeting rooms and an outdoor terrace that will be open to the public. Strategic Insights worked with the company on a number of projects, including its corporate website.
